Interior Design Board Seventeen

Okay you guys, this has got to be one of my favorite boards so far! It definitely has a bit of a southwestern style vibe, but I’m loving this interior design board. CHECK IT OUT and let me know what you think.

The Colors

The inspiration piece was definitely the blue pattern textile. But blue is not my natural inclination, so while I love it in our textile, I didn’t want to include it in a more permanent element such as paint. So I opted for a grey color scale.

Home Decor Inspiration

As always, I like a good variety and color variance for my interior design boards. So I went with a dark (bluish) grey, an off white, and a light grey color. These cooler colors contrast with the warmer color of other elements in our board and will create a good balance.

The Textiles

Like I said, the blue pattern textile was the initial inspiration for this interior design board. So the goal is to compliment not compete with it.

Because it has so much texture and character, I wanted to keep it the focal point and went with more neutral or solid colors for the other textile options. I went with a heavy weave tan upholstery, a white cotton, and a worn brown faux leather.

The Details

I ended up with quite a few “finishing touches” on this board. I may have went a little crazy with it, but I have no regrets! There are two tile options. A BEAUTIFUL terra cotta mosaic and a white rectangle tile with a really interesting organic texture.

I also included a wood sample that has a sun worn or aged appearance to it. Nothing too loud or bright. The light wood contrasts perfectly with the dark blue textile.

Throw in a classic black door pull, some greenery, and a candle stick just because! And there ya have it. An interior design board that would make a rancher proud! (At least all the ranchers I’ve met, which are none lol)

Possible Designs

Now let’s talk about room design! How can we use these elements to put together an amazing space? Here are some of my ideas….

Interior Design Board: Dining Room

I’m not sure why this board said dining room to me, but I couldn’t get the idea out of my head. So let’s throw caution to the wind and go with it. For the flooring I would go with the terra cotta mosaic tile.

Next, I want to incorporate the white tile. I’m not sure why this dining room has a fireplace, but it does and it will look amazing in our white tile option!

Moving to the walls, let’s warm up the space with our off white option. It’s still the white walls I love, with a touch of sun in it.

Adding the layers from there, I would go on a hunt for a rug similar to our blue textile. Then track down a dining table with black iron legs and a wood top. And find chairs in our faux leather.

Finally, add a potted tree, dish ware in our dark paint color, and a black chandelier to the space. Can you just see a giant highland cow art print on the wall?!

Interior Design Board: Kitchen

Now let’s talk kitchen! For this space, I would find a floor option similar to our wood sample (a water resistant option would be best). Then let’s move up with cabinets in our dark paint color. Add the white tile for a backsplash in a vertical pattern. And finish with our black door pulls, white curtains and bar stools in our tan upholstery.

Interior Design Board: Bedroom

Since our interior design board is heave with tile options, and bedrooms don’t utilize those much, we can make some creative adjustments here. Start with wood flooring. Then add our blue rug (because I’m obsessed!). Next incorporate our iron element in a bed frame and side tables. For our textiles, let’s do a leather headboard, bedding in our white cotton, and accent pillows with our tan upholstery.

Hopefully now you’re in love with this interior design board as much as I am! And it was able to inspire your next home design. Here are some decor pieces to help get you started.
