K-1st Science Printables Vol. 3

Can you believe summer is nearly over already? And now it’s time to pack up the summer activities and start switching our brains back into school mode. But, that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun while we do it! Here are some great Science Printables to help make this school year more fun.

After how well it went using my Science Printables last year (Check out Vol. 1 and Vol. 2), I knew I had to make more for this year. And here is the result, I hope you enjoy them as much as we will!

Science Printables: What Occurred on Each Day of Creation?

Because my little learner has started the learning to read process, I wanted to make sure these printables accommodated that while also still being fun. So some of these may be more difficult for littler ones, but still manageable with a little help.

For this Science Printables Page, I went with basic word to number association. This is where the reading skills come in. But I also color coordinated them to help the process and make it easier for smaller learners too.

Science Printables: What are Some Land Biomes?

More often than not, when there is land, there are plants! So for Land Biomes I went with a rainbow forest. (Please excuse the wrinkled trees. My laminator decided to misbehave!)

There’s not really a rime or reason to this. So when you’re putting your Science Printables together, you can put the trees wherever you like. And the little ones can put them in any location while they recite the terms. I did try to color associate for different ones like making the Tundra tree blue!

Science Printables: What are Three Types of Consumer?

Okay friends, this may be one of my favorites!! Can you tell I’m a boy mom?! My little one is obsessed with dinosaurs so I had to include them in these Science Printables.

Here all your little ones have to do is match the meal with the plate. Like a good grandpa (Pa), my father made sure to point out that Pterodactyls are not omnivores. But I’m pretty sure they ate bugs and berries so it works for me!

Science Printables: What are Some Parts of the Food Chain?

I like incorporating matching into my Science Printables because it’s a fast and easy way of reviewing terms without overwhelming our littles. Just like the previous page, this one requires your little one to match the picture to the correct term. The beauty of it is that it works with however elaborate or minimal a lesson or explanation you want!

Science Printables: What are Some Cycles in Nature?

I wanted to use revolving arrows with this page because it shows the flow of the cycles. It’s a process that moves from one thing to another, in and out and back again. When your putting together your Science Printables, you can place the cycle buttons wherever you would prefer. I tried to put mine near the elements they each influence.

Science Printables: How do Animals React to Environmental Change?

More matching!! For this page, I kept it a simple matching exercise but incorporated some higher concept connections. The animals pictured are literal examples of the reactions they represent. And the symbols used allow for more in depth explanation of the terms.

Science Printables: What are Six Forms of Pollution?

For Volume 3 of the Science Printables, I incorporated several blank page layouts. At first I was worried these would be too minimal or not “fun” enough. But as I was putting them together and had my professional focus group test it out (aka my little ones), I realized they were perfect for term recitation and motor learning techniques.

When you’re putting these together, you can “stack” the barrels however you’d like. The OCD in me, resisted the urge to arrange them in a grid format. But because the topic of pollution is messy and chaotic, I wanted that concept to follow through with the page layout.

Science Printables: What are Some Aquatic Biomes?

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think Aquatic? For me, it’s got to be fish!! While I wasn’t able to put together a full fledged AQUARIUM, I did a mini version with some super cute “goldfish.” Again, it’s all about a motor activity while reciting terms with this Science Printables page.

Science Printables: What are Some Parts of the Sun?

Who knew there were so many parts of the sun?! I think I learn just as much as (if not more than) my little one with these Science Printables. And these little rays are a fun and easy way to do it. I’m sure they’ll make those gloomy days a little brighter!

Science Printables: What are the Names of the Planets?

Space is one of my little learners favorite topics. He loves hearing all the information about them, and I’m so happy to have these amazing visual aids for him to experience.

While I couldn’t do actual size ratios, I gauged each of them from smallest to largest accordingly. (Let’s all take a moment of silence for Pluto’s demotion…)

Science Printables: What are the Phases of the Moon?

This page of the can be set up a couple different ways. On the print out, I arranged the moons in a circular pattern. I cut out each of the moons (remembering the order they were in). Here’s were you can change it up if you want. When I laminated the moons, I grouped them together by names, so that the moons with the same names are laid together. But the laminated sheet is clear so you can still see the earth below the laminated bridge. You can do it that way, or you can keep each of them separate.

Science Printables: What are Some Other Bodies in Our Solar System?

As far as readability goes, this page of the Science Printables is probably the toughest. If I’m being honest, even I struggle with them a little! So I didn’t want to complicate it further with elaborate actions. Just a repeat after me method while laying the images down.

You’re All Set!

Hopefully, these are the first step toward getting your little ones excited for the school year! If you would like to make your own set of Science Printables for your classroom or just to use with your littles at home, here’s what you’ll need to do.

  • Head over the the PRINTABLES Shop and purchase your pdf file
  • Cut out the images (I saved on printing costs by putting multiple image sets on the cut out pages. If you feel like you’re missing one, it’s probably hanging out on another page.)
  • Laminate and cut out again.
  • Optional: Add velcro dots to pages (I got mine from Dollar Tree in the craft section)

That’s all you have to do! So easy and hours of educational fun. I truly hope you enjoy using these Science Printables, and I would love to hear from you on the other TGH social media pages: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter
